Flight vacation
The take off site is easy and ideal for your first tandem flight in the Hallstatt region. You will take the BGV cable car towards the peak of Krippenbrunn (1480m). The take off on the ski slope is only 2 min away, is located ca. 1000 m above the town Obertraun and it is well protected from strong winds. It´s easterly direction provides thermal winds from early on in the morning so we have ideal take off conditions most of the time. The pilot will inflate the wing and the adventure begins only a few steps away. The flight leads you next to the Schafeck and you have a great view towards the mountains Loser, Saarstein , and of course, lake Hallstatt .
The landig zone is either on a a sportsfield near the cable car or on a meadow next to the lido of lake Hallstatt in Obertraun.
You will never forget a flight from the Krippenstein . At an elevation of 2100 m and an actual hight difference of ca. 1500 m this mountain belongs to the upper class of flight zones in the Eastern Alps. Not only the passanger will enjoy a breath taking view and scenery but also every pilot will always remember a flight from the Krippenstein peak plateau (2100m). Take off is towards the west and once airborne you will enjoy a surrounding covered by the Dachstein glacier, the vertical rock formations of the Hierlatz, the Simony cabin and, directly over the lage, a spectacular view towards the salt mountain and the town Hallstatt , a UNESCO world heritage site.
We respect your wishes for the landing zone and touch down either in the Echern valley next to Hallstatt or at a meadow next to the lido of the lake in Obertraun. Do not worry if you feel butterflies before and after the flight: this is perfectly normal, since also experienced pilots stand still in emotions once they have reached the take off zone for the first time. We guarantee that this flight will make an ever lasting impression and could be a trigger for your own paragliding career.

IA spectacular flight is from the official take-off spot of the impressive Red-Bull X-Alps competition. Launch next to the majestic Dachstein south wall at the Dachstein glacier and do the Jack London flight, a x-country flight reaching over the top of the 3000 m high Dachstein peak and glide 14 km towards the UNESCO world heritage town of Hallstatt. Another flight path will lead you from the Dachstein mountain towards the Stoderzinken and ultimately to the Castle Thannegg in Moosheim. Daily meeting point is the Castle Thannegg in Moosheim.
