Waterfalls and stone witnesses
A tour with three variants, but always with the famous starting point in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut. Whether to the Sattelalm, the Klausmoos or the Grubalm - the biker is always accompanied by the primeval mountain world with Lake Hallstatt at his feet.
For these tours we start in the center of Hallstatt (parking lot Mitte) and follow the signs to the Echerntal. On asphalt we climb 265 meters in altitude to the bridge Waldbachstrub (waterfall). Here we can choose:
Variant 1 Sattelalm
We turn right over the Waldbach bridge, turn right again at the fork in the road and after 2.5 km turn left at the next fork in the road towards Salzberg/Sattelalm (1,342 m), which we reach after 11 km. Return the same way.
Klausmoos Variant 2
We don't drive over the bridge but follow the forest stream. The signs lead us past several alpine huts in the direction of Klausalm, after about 2 km we keep left and then turn right at the Grubalm/Klausmoos junction, at the following two Gebelungen we keep straight ahead. After 10.8 km we reach the Klausmoos (1,270 m), return on the same route.
Variant 3 Grubalm
We don't drive over the bridge but follow the forest stream. The route is identical to variant 2 until the junction Grubalm/Klausmoos, but here we drive straight ahead, the path then winds left uphill to a Kupper (81.26+7 m) behind it is the Grubalm (1,230 m), return on the same path.
Trans-Salzkammergut
