Above Rußbach at the Gschütt Pass: More than 200 different species of medicinal herbs, flowers and protected orchids grow wild next to the path. At more than 30 stations, you can learn about the intended use of medicinal herbs, tips for health exercises, wisdom from the forest and herbal fairy tales. The Fountain of Youth "Jungbrunnenweg" Trail begins at the Rußbach municipal office. Hike the first section in the direction of Rinnberg along the romantic stream. After about 1 kilometre, at the first junction on the left, there are 2 flags at the beginning of the nature trail.

A special experience for children

You bowl with pine cones and ball with stones at the Kugelahn. You'll play the bird's nest throwing game and cone basketball, you'll build a farm and a gnome house, and you'll be surprised by 12 ladybug stamp points along the way.

At more than 30 stations, you will learn about the intended use of medicinal herbs, tips for health exercises, wisdom of the forest and herbal fairy tales.

Easy to reach

The "Fountain of Youth Trail" (in German "Jungbrunnenweg") can be reached by car from Gosau in about 15 to 20 minutes by car. It takes a little longer by bus. But also from the other places in the UNESCO World Heritage region Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut - Hallstatt, Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt and Obertraun - the popular hiking trail can be reached in about 45 to 60 minutes by bus.
