Season start on 19th May 2021

Due to the current situation - "keyword Covid19" - the start of the season at the Cave Worlds and the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car in Obertraun, as well as the Gosaukammbahn on the Zwieselalm in Gosau have been postponed.

The new season start date is 19th May 2021. The Koppenbrüller Cave will also start the 2021 summer season at this time.

Note for all ski tourers: The running time for the early morning rides on the Krippenstein has been extended. You can find more info here.

A final note: The cable cars on the Feuerkogel in Ebensee and the Grünberg in Gmunden also start the new summer season on 19th May 2021.

Ensuring the health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority. The following measures, guidelines and code of conduct apply for the summer season 2021 in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations introduced by the Austrian Federal Government. These rules and actions are for the wellbeing of our guests and staff. We will continuously assess and adjust them as circumstances require.
Measures & general information
The Dachstein Krippenstein cable cars in the Salzkammergut

In accordance with the current regulations introduced by the Austrian Federal Government, cable cars are classified as a mode of public transport and are therefore subject to public transport regulations. Therefore, the following measures and guidelines apply:

    Wearing of a FFP2 mask is mandatory in the queuing area, in boarding and alighting areas, and when riding cable cars as well as in all enclosed spaces and in any areas where it is not possible to comply with minimum social distancing regulations. FFP2 and FFP3 masks with an exhalation valve are not permitted, as they do not protect your surroundings.

    FFP2 masks can be purchased for € 2.00 at all ticket counters.
     
    Arrangements in boarding areas: We will arrange queuing areas in a way that avoid groups of people standing close together wherever possible.
     
    Minimum social distance: The legal requirement to maintain a social distance of 2 meter from other people does not apply in cable car cabins/gondolas.
     
    Maximum occupancy: The capacity in the closed cable car cabins / gondolas will be reduced by 50% due to legal requirements.  Please note: Wearing a FFPS mask is mandatory!

    Disinfection measures: We ventilate o ur cable car cabins/gondolas and regularly disinfect them using cold fogging machines. We also regularly clean and disinfect all public areas.
     
    Hand hygiene: We have installed numerous hand disinfection stations throughout our cable car facilities
     
    Journey times: None of our cable cars have a journey time of more than 10 minutes
     
    Customer contact: Staff who come in direct contact with customers always wear face coverings.
     
    Cashless payments: All of our ticket counters accept cashless payments.
     
    Information: Information is provided on numerous info screens, posters, etc. throughout the area of the valley and mountain station of the cable cars and the caves.

Freesports Arena Dachstein Krippenstein in Obertraun/Upper Austria

We ask guests to act responsibly and use common sense in the hiking area and in public areas so that everyone stays safe and can enjoy themselves. Please follow the measures listed below order to protect yourself and others:
Mouth and nose protection (MNP)

Wearing a FFP2 mask* without without an exhalation valve is mandatory in the following areas:

    around ticket counter
    in queuing areas, boarding areas, alighting areas, and throughout the journey on all cable cars
    outdoors where it is not possible to maintain the minimum social distance of 2 meter
    in all enclosed spaces
    *Mask requirements:
        from 14 years:     FFP2 mask is mandatory
        6 - 13 years:         MNP (face covering / protective mask) is mandatory
        until 5 years:        no MNP required

 
Minimum social distance

    Please observe the legal minimum social distance of 2 meter from people not in your party
    In cable car cabins/gondolas maintaining the minimum social distance of 2 meter from other people is not a legal requirement

Practice good hygiene

    Please observe general hygiene rules such as regularly washing your hands
    Do not shake hands when greeting others
    If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into the crook of your arm or into a tissue

Ventilate where possible

    We take care to make sure there is sufficient ventilation in cable car cabins/gondolas and in buildings

    Contact the local health authorities by dialling 1450 for further advice (diagnostic clarification)

COVID-19 safety measures in the summer season

Where do I need to wear a mouth and nose protection (MNP) - FFP2 mask?
Wearing a FFP2 mask is mandatory in the queuing area, in boarding and alighting areas, and when riding cable cars, in all enclosed spaces and in areas where it is not possible to comply with minimum social distancing regulations.

What counts as a MNP mask?
Wearing of a FFP2 mask is mandatory without exception.

Wearing a mouth and nose protection (MNP) with an FFP2 mask is mandatory both in queuing areas and while using the lift facilities.

Are gondolas/cabins ventilated during transport?
We take care to make sure there is sufficient ventilation in cable car cabins/gondolas and in buildings. Cabins are ventilated as effectively as possible when in operation. Please ventilate your cabin during your journey by opening the windows.

What arrangements are in place for enclosed spaces?
Wearing a mouth and nose protection (MNP) mask is mandatory and the minimum social distance of 2 metre must be observed in enclosed spaces.

Where is disinfectant available?
We have provided disinfectant dispensers at numerous points in cable car buildings.

What measures are in place for cable car staff who have contact with customers?
All staff who have direct contact with customers either wear a face covering (protective mask) or are physically separated from guests by specific protective arrangements (i.e. perspex shields).

What regulations are in place for restaurants in the mountains?
Separate regulations are in place for restaurants (including those up in the mountains). These regulations are published [in German only] at www.sichere-gastfreundschaft.at and are implemented by each establishment.

Valid tests:
1. Negative PCR test (valid for 3 days)
2. Negative antigen test from test street, pharmacy, etc. (valid for 2 days)
3. Negative controlled self-test (valid for 2 days)
4. School tests for access also apply to children

5. New from 19.5. Recognition of living room tests using a QR code (valid for 1 day): In addition to the five test kits per person from the pharmacy to date, every household will receive a pack of 20 test kits per month including QR codes from May 18th. Take a picture of the QR code and your negative test result. The confirmation will be sent by email or SMS. This is recognized as an entry test for 24 hours.

Vaccination: Proof by means of a vaccination certificate, vaccination card or printout. Valid from the 22nd day after the first vaccination.
Recovery: separation notice (up to 6 months after recovery), antibody test (up to 3 months nG)

Tests for domestic and foreign guests

  • Please arrive with a test in your pocket (for foreign guests a corresponding test certificate is required when crossing the border)
  • Rapid antigen tests can be carried out in public test stations (valid for 48 hours; also for foreign guests without an Austrian e-card)
  • Self-test under supervision in the municipalities (valid for 48 hours; also for foreign guests without an Austrian e-card)
  • Self-tests and living room tests with QR code or official registration (valid for 24 hours; attention: this test does not apply to border crossings) - Austrian guests, including those from other federal states, can bring these tests with them from home and also use them on vacation. They apply throughout Austria.
  • Please note: rapid antigen tests in pharmacies are only available for Austrians with an e-card (valid for 48 hours)
  • Point of sale tests are an "emergency solution" for companies to test guests who cannot show a negative COVID-19 test (valid only in this one company)
